January 24, 2017
There are always going to be people in this world that will not like your book, for whatever reason. To receive negative reviews on your book especially in the early days of your book being released can be disheartening. I’m here to tell you that no matter what, there will always be tough critics out there.
Have you ever read 50 Shades of Grey? The book is known for its amateurish writing, However, it has achieved a huge fan base around the world, Do you think E L James cares what negative things have been said about the book? No, because she made it! Success was hers, and that’s what it’s all about. She originally wrote the book for herself, and there are many authors that do this. It’s your project and if you’re happy with it then that is the most important thing. In saying that, it always pays to have a professional edit your work though.
While it may seem tempting to read every review, a tip would be to take in what you want and what you think will help you for your next book and disregard reviews that you think aren’t going to help you evolve as a writer.
